Configuration of the RTU-X is done using a graphical user interface that runs on any PC with Windows XP or higher that can be downloaded from Downloads.
The user interface can be used in two ways: in online mode or offline mode.
This is the default mode of the user interface when the program starts.
The offline mode is used to work on the configuration of any RTU-X unit without having to be connected to it, allowing comfortably to open, save and edit all aspects of the configuration.
In offline mode, icons are available that allow you to open and save a configuration in a file with a json extension, which can then be used to upload to a device when in online mode.
In online mode, all the information displayed on the screen is that found on the computer to which the interface is connected, and the changes made will be saved on that computer as well.
When in online mode, two new buttons will appear in all user interface windows: "Apply" and "Update". After making any changes, you must press the "Apply" button to transmit it to the team. If you make an unwanted change in the configuration (and it has not yet been applied), the "Update" button allows you to reload the equipment configuration on the screen.
In online mode, icons are available that allow you to upload and download the complete configuration of a device. The download button creates a complete backup of the computer in a json file.
It is recommended to always save the configuration in a device after installing it in its final place, so that if the device needs to be replaced for any reason in the future, a new device can easily be configured just like the old one. The upload button takes a json file and fully uploads it to your computer.
The first thing that must be configured in the interface to be able to connect with the equipment is the type of connection. For any of the connection options, you must select the Slave ID of the equipment to which you want to connect. You can connect to the RTU-X in the following ways:
Once the connection is configured and established, the main window will display the firmware version, date and time, battery information, information about the connected extension modules, information about the Wi-Fi connection and the modem. The main window also has a button that allows you to configure the time of the device from the time of the PC on which the user interface is running.
